I am two days away from leaving the states for an adventure!
At long last, Italy is in my crosshairs as I prepare to travel to the Apennine Mountains between Bologna and Florence, and then to the shores of Lake Garda. My best friend Ken Willits will accompany me, as we salute his late father, Sgt. Hal Willits who served in the 10th Mountain Division during their tour of duty in Italy during World War II.
We will join nearly 100 descendants of 10th troops to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Germans' surrender, and the end of the European campaign.
I hope to collect the remainder of content necessary to complete my 3rd book, "The Legacy Ridge", as well as a companion documentary film about the trip, which Ken Willits will co-produce!
